Our Story
Public Safety
Keeping Elk Grove safe is a top priority and that is why I am proud to be endorsed by our police officers and firefighters. Elk Grove still has one of the lowest crime rates in our region.
Since being elected, we have hired more police officers and law enforcement staff. I regularly go on ride-a long’s with our officers to get a better understanding of their needs. We have a strong police department. They do a great job connecting with our residents. As Mayor, I will continue to provide additional funding, support, and the resources needed to strengthen our police department and help them keep our community safe.
Our firefighters are also on the front-lines. Our partnership with the Cosumnes Community Services District which oversees the fire department is strong. We meet and collaborate to ensure that our resident’s safety needs are being met. Traffic is a public safety issue and our ongoing plans to improve traffic citywide will help to lower response times and save lives.
I lead the efforts to pass Measure E which allowed for a one cent sales tax increase to help fund increased public safety and reduce crime. Elk Grove continues to be one of the safest cities in the state. We have invested in technology, more staff and outreach services like drones as first responders, improving 911, and gang prevention.
